 The Fairy Festival by Gustave Dore, French, 1832-1883. Image courtesy of Peter Nahum at Leicester Galleries, London, England.
 Dore was a painter and book illustrator and known best for his images of horror. I have been looking for this painting for a long time and finally found the gentler side of the artist. It is almost impossible to believe this is a Dore.
