I want you to know what great pleasure you have given me over the years and how popular your books have been. You are one of the few authors whose novels have never gone out of print!
Oil on canvas portrait, Charles Dickens in his Study, 1859, by William Powell Frith, British, 1819-1909. The painting hangs in the Victoria and Albert Museum in London. The Londoner Dickens lived from 1812 to 1870.
